We believe that the families of the incarcerated are "doing time" right
along with their loved ones. Kairos Outside is designed to let those families
know that there is a community that cares about them and their needs.
The weekend is a way to help strengthen the family unit and encourage
small support groups for women whose relatives are at the same facility.
We provide a secure place for women to share their struggles with each other
and with those who are empathetic to their situations. The women on the outside,
in many ways, have to be stronger than their relatives inside to survive in today's world.
We hope Kairos 'Outside' will help them find strength for their life journeys
and give them a chance to find and build friendships that may last a lifetime.
A message the KOH Council Chair...
2017 is off to an exciting start. Kairos Outside Houston has many new council members and a new council chair. My name is Renee McGah and I have been serving with Kairos Outside Houston for almost 5 years now. This ministry is my passion. My life continues to be blessed as I see lives changed through this ministry. I searched for many years to find a ministry in which I could serve. One day I was talking to a friend of mine and told her that I knew I was supposed to serve women but couldn't seem to find the right ministry. She told me, "have I got a ministry for you." She happened to be the leader of KO Houston #29. She asked me to serve on the team and needless to say I was hooked.
As we head into 2017 KO Houston Team #34 has already begun their team training under the leadership of Darlene Coburn. I would ask that when you have the ear of the Father that you would pray for Darlene and her team as they prepare for Weekend #34 March 31-April 2, 2017.
Please join me in welcoming our new and returning members of the KOH Advisory Council!
